Why Salt Tees?
Salt Tees is personal to me.
It took me a year and a half to finally receive a POTS diagnosis. I also live with hEDS and other chronic conditions, and getting answers was anything but easy. After spending so much time trying to understand what was happening to my body, I eventually traveled to Jacksonville to see doctors who could help me get the answers I had been searching for.
While I was there, I got a small salt shaker tattoo.
At the time, it was a reminder of my journey toward a diagnosis and one of the things that had become an important part of managing my POTS symptoms: salt. But over time, that little salt shaker came to represent so much more—the fight to be heard, the reality of living with a chronic illness, and the strength it takes to keep going when your body doesn't cooperate.
That salt shaker eventually became the inspiration behind Salt Tees.
Living with POTS can make everyday life unpredictable. Some days I'm able to work at my desk and create, while other days a flare means I'm designing from bed. Salt Tees has given me a creative outlet that works with my life rather than against it. What started as something to keep my mind busy has grown into something that gives me a sense of purpose and allows me to turn a difficult part of my life into something positive.
And now, the salt shaker that inspired Salt Tees is helping us give back to the community that inspired it.
Giving Back to the POTS Community
A portion of every Salty Collection sale will be donated to an Ohio-based nonprofit dedicated to improving the quality of life for people living with POTS through research, advocacy, and support.
The fact that this research is happening right here in Ohio makes this partnership especially meaningful to us. Salt Tees was built around the idea of community reinvestment, and whenever we can support an organization doing meaningful work close to home, that's exactly what we want to do.
